The Giving Tree Tradition Carries On

posted on Monday, November 21, 2022

As we approach the upcoming holiday season we are reminded of what we're grateful for and the ways we can give back to those in need. While the last few years have been filled with uncertainty at times, one thing we can be certain of is just how much we are encouraged by the tenacious and strong-willed spirit within all of us here at EPI and beyond.

As we enter this holiday season, we once again bring you our annual Giving Tree event now through December 16, with 306 needs for 90 people we support.

The Giving Tree began over 15 years ago as a way to meet modest needs of individuals served by EPI which would otherwise go unmet. By fulfilling a need on the Giving Tree, you are providing a gift for someone who would not otherwise receive a gift to open this holiday season.

Here's how you can help fulfill one or more of the 306 needs this holiday season:

  1. Virtually - Visit our wish lists by clicking one or more of the following categories. Next, simply choose the gift(s) you would like to purchase, add them to your cart, and check out! Once purchased through the wish list, the gift(s) will be safely delivered to the person(s) in need. *Please ensure you select the EPI address provided on Amazon for shipping.
    Household  |  Clothing  |  Hobbies & Entertainment  |  Warm & Cozy
  2. Locally - If you wish to fulfill an item by supporting a small business, view the links above and find the gift(s) you would like to fulfill. Next, fill out the form found at the bottom of this page to claim the item you're purchasing and have it removed from the wish lists online.
  3. Cash Donation - Simply make a cash donation online and let us do the shopping! To designate your donation to the Giving Tree, fill out the "Gift Reference" field and type in "Giving Tree".

What are some of the items requested on the Giving Tree?
When browsing the lists of Giving Tree needs, you will find a variety needs like winter coats, socks, or tennis shoes. Some individuals are moving into their own apartment for their first time and would love getting settled in with cleaning supplies, simple bedding, or pots and pans. You'll also find entertainment items like books or movies!

We thank you all for your lasting support in this wonderful tradition and sincerely wish everyone in our extended EPI family a happy and healthy holiday season!

A very special thank you to CBE, Discerning Wealth, PDCM Group Insurance Benefits, and Veridian for hosting a Giving Tree at their offices.
