The Giving Tree: Bringing Comfort & Joy to Those who Need it Most

Picture this: It’s Christmas morning. A woman who has spent the past year scraping by on a limited income opens a box to find a winter coat. Hugging the coat, she whispers “thank you.” Tears well in her eyes, not because of the gift itself, but because someone cared enough to make sure she wasn’t forgotten. She hugs the coat knowing that a special someone has provided her with the warmth she needs this winter season.

Across town, a man moving into his very first apartment unwraps a set of dishes, ready to start a new chapter with dignity, hope, and gratitude. These moments happen because of your support of EPI’s Giving Tree, and these moments are why this tradition exists.

For nearly 20 years, EPI’s Giving Tree has been more than a holiday gesture. It’s been a lifeline—meeting modest but meaningful needs for individuals who would otherwise go without. This year, 79 people have shared 280 essential needs with us. Together, we can make sure every single one is fulfilled before December 22.

When you choose an item from the Giving Tree, you’re not just giving a gift. You’re giving warmth, comfort, and a moment of joy that will be remembered long after the wrapping paper is gone. Imagine someone opening a box to find a cozy winter coat, a set of dishes for their first home, or a favorite book they thought they’d never own. These are simple things, but they carry profound meaning for those who have no family to provide holiday gifts and live on extremely limited incomes.
