Save the Date: More Than You See Returns June 18, 2026

posted on Monday, March 2, 2026

Exceptional Persons, Inc. is pleased to announce that More Than You See (MTYS) will return to the Cedar Valley on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. at River Place Plaza in downtown Cedar Falls. This outdoor community event has become a cherished summer evening where people of all abilities gather to enjoy live music, connection, and the spirit of inclusion that defines EPI’s mission. A rain date has been scheduled for Thursday, June 25.

This year’s event will feature Howl2Go Dueling Pianos, bringing a lively, high-energy performance that promises crowd engagement and an atmosphere that is both entertaining and deeply community-focused. Although this is the first time Howl2Go has joined MTYS, our attendees have loved dueling pianos performances at past MTYS events — and we’re excited to introduce this group to the stage.

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and their families (yes, kids too!) for a relaxed evening of outdoor music under the summer sky.  A selection of local food trucks will also be on-site, making it easy to grab dinner, a treat, or a favorite snack while enjoying the event. Whether someone is closely connected to EPI or simply looking for a meaningful night out, MTYS is designed to be a welcoming experience for everyone.

“More Than You See is an opportunity for our community to come together in support of people with diverse abilities, and to celebrate the belief that everyone deserves to be seen beyond what meets the eye and empowered to live, work, and grow in our community,” said Katie Slade, Executive Director of EPI.

EPI is pleased to welcome back Dan Deery Toyota as the Presenting Sponsor for the 2026 event. The Deery family’s relationship with EPI spans decades, grounded in a shared commitment to inclusion and community support.

“My family has been connected to EPI for decades, and continuing our support of More Than You See is a reminder of what makes the Cedar Valley special — people showing up for one another,” said DJ Deery, General Manager at Dan Deery Toyota.

Their continued involvement reflects a legacy of generosity that has helped MTYS grow into the community celebration it is today.

The evening aims to strengthen existing connections and spark new ones, all while raising funds that directly support the individuals served by EPI. Proceeds from More Than You See help meet the organization’s greatest needs and support essential services that empower people to live more independently and participate more fully in the Cedar Valley. These resources allow EPI to continue living out its mission of connecting people, creating opportunities, and nurturing growth.

Nicole Ericson, EPI’s Community Development Director and MTYS event lead, encourages the community to make plans to attend, “We’re incredibly grateful for Dan Deery Toyota’s continued partnership — their long-standing involvement truly helps make More Than You See possible each year,” Ericson said. “This event brings people of all abilities together to enjoy live music and build community. Bring a lawn chair, grab a blanket, bring your kids and your dogs, and come celebrate with us.”

Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and individuals who wish to support this year’s event. Those interested in partnering with EPI or learning more about MTYS can fill out our form online, email communications@episervice.org or call (319) 232-6671.

More updates, including additional details and event announcements, will be shared on EPI’s website and social media channels as the event approaches.
