Is Technology Support Right for You or Your Loved One? Join Us at the Statewide Technology Town Hall

In December, EPI had the opportunity to share our two-year technology journey with providers across Iowa during a statewide Enabling Technology Town Hall hosted by Iowa Health and Human Services (HHS). We were honored to be one of three providers featured, and now, we’re excited to share that we’ve been invited back.
This time, the town hall is open to the public, welcoming individuals, families, caregivers, and community members who want to learn more about how technology can support greater independence at home.
Exploring the Question: “Are technology supports right for me or my loved one?”
The February 26 session will focus on helping people understand what technology support looks like in real life and when it might be a helpful option. From smart home tools to virtual connection support, technology can provide safety, flexibility, consistency, and independence.
EPI and two other providers will share what we’ve learned on our tech-enabled journey, including how remote supports, smart devices, and virtual services are helping the people we serve live more confidently and independently.
In addition to provider stories, the town hall will feature a live panel of real people currently using technology support services. Attendees will have a chance to hear directly from individuals and families about what technology looks like in day-to-day life — what they love, what they’ve learned, and how it’s supported their independence.

Technology is not about replacing support, it’s about expanding possibilities:
- Offering choice and independence
- Providing timely, flexible assistance
- Helping people stay connected to their communities
- Enhancing safety and peace of mind for families
- Ensuring staff are available where in-person support is most needed
We’re excited to continue this conversation with a broader audience and help more families explore whether technology supports could be a good fit.
