Join in on the celebration! The annual week-long celebration of direct support professionals (DSPs) takes place September 10 - 16, 2023.

Why do we celebrate?
We take this time to shine a light on the many "hats" a direct support professional wears. They are job coaches, mentors, difference makers, fierce advocators, independency builders, community integrators and so much more. They are the heart and soul of supports for the people we serve and their dedication is worthy of this celebration!

How do we celebrate DSP Recognition Week?
We say thank you, we celebrate our staff with a chance to come together, enjoy a warm meal, and hear our thanks. However, our most important recognition is through our tireless advocacy of better funding to pay our direct support professionals a fairer wage.

We invite you to help us celebrate and raise awareness of this incredibly important profession throughout the week!

Here’s how you can celebrate.

• Help us raise up the profession by telling their story. Submit your stories online here or on social media using the hashtags #DSPRecWeek22 and #WeAreEPI.
• Send a simple thank you. Whether this is through text, email, or by mailing a letter to EPI. A heartfelt message can go a very long way.
• Advocate with us. Stay in the know on when your advocacy efforts are needed by signing up for our electronic newsletters. Right now we are asking supporters to take action now by contacting legislators urging them to pass the "Recognizing the Role of Direct Support Professionals Act" bill.
• Give a gift in their honor. Visit here to give a gift in honor of an outstanding direct support professional that has touched your lives. 

Regardless of how or when they’re celebrated, we know the career they lead with passion is one worth celebrating all 52 weeks of the year.
