CHOICE Day Services

Exceptional Persons, Inc. offers CHOICE Day Services for adults with mental retardation. CHOICE is an acronym that stands for Consumers Having Options In Community Enhancement. The CHOICE program offers a relaxed homelike setting where people participate in leisure and skill-building activities.

Individuals attending the CHOICE program choose from a variety of activities. Crafts, woodworking, computer skills, preparing food and going out in the community are popular activities. Pet and music therapy are also favorites at the program. Through the many activities planned, individuals at the CHOICE program develop skills to help them become more independent at home and in the community.

Individual likes and dislikes, preferences, dreams and ambitions are important aspects of planning an individual's program. Careful listening, discussions and observations are the strategies used in creating an individualized plan for service. Family members and professionals who know the individual participate in the program planning process.
