with Disabilities

Exceptional Persons, Inc. (EPI) believes that every person who wants to work has the right to employment.

Support Where Needed

In some cases, employment with support is necessary. Historically, individuals with disabilities have been supported in facility-based programs, with occasional placement in integrated community businesses. Most recently, placement in competitive settings, with support, has been shown to be effective and consistent with most people’s preferences.

The Employment Services program offers job placement, training, and follow-along services for individuals with disabilities. Job placement can include enclaves, supervised work crews, and individual placements.

Our hands-on approach to locating job opportunities for our clients requires that we first match their skills with an employers needs. An EPI “job coach” then works alongside the client at the job-site providing all necessary training until the individual is ready to work independently. EPI provides ongoing support through its “follow along” services.

Employment Opportunities
Employment staff work to find jobs to match your skills and capacities, as well as your wants and desires. Individual placements can include a variety of options including working in a supermarket, retail store, or restaurant, just to name a few. EPI also contracts with area businesses to provide work crew opportunities.
